Inspiration
I am attracted to odd scenes or details that other people overlook. My eyes are naturally drawn to light and shade and I am fascinated by the way light can transform a scene or an object. I generally take photographs intuitively in my everyday environment: my home, street or local area. I play with these images of random objects, odd scenes and figures, placing them alongside each other until they seem to fit together. My work explores family life, domestic drudgery, mindfulness, a child’s point of view, dreams, and beauty in the everyday. It is purposefully ambiguous with no immediate apparent link between images. I hope that this gap in understanding may allow viewers a space to project their own ideas and daydreams into my work.
